Mark Litson announced as Chairman

The AGM was held on Sunday the 28th January. A decent turn out again, continuing the trend from the past few years.

Nothing too much to report except the standing down of Shaun Dryell, the Chairman of these past 6 years. All at Downend Cricket Club would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Shaun & all he has done whilst at the helm. Top of his many achievements as Chairman was steering us through COVID, a tough time for all but even more so for an amateur sports club. He leaves big shoes to fill but we have no doubt the incoming Mark Litson will be more than up to the task.

Mark, a long term key member of the Senior side, even braking into the 1st XI last year, Mark hales from Australia originally but though he refuses to loose his accent is now as much a pom as you & I.

Jackie Orr has decided she & Colin didn’t already spend enough time doing club business, she has also stepped up to replace the outgoing Welfare officer Jason Louch. Once again, we thank Jason for all his service to the club.

We all wish Mark & Jackie the best of luck in their new roles.
